Description:

Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, bronze 10 centimes, 1860

Diameter 30mm

The obverse features the coat of arms of Luxembourg. This consists of a crown above a shield bearing a two-tailed lion rampant. The inscription around the outside reads 'GRAND-DUCHE DE LUXEMBOURG'. Two Parisian Privy Marks - an anchor and a hand - are at the bottom at either side of a five pointed star. The reverse features the inscription '10 CENTIMES 1860' within a wreath of olive and oak. At the very base of the coin is the letter 'A', the Parisian mint mark, and the name Barth, possibly that of the designer or engraver.
