Description:

French silver fifty centimes, 1905

Diameter 17mm

The obverse features a full image of Marianne wearing the Phrygian, or liberty, cap. The inscription reads 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE'. The reverse features an olive branch with '50 CENTIMES' inscribed above and the date below. The inscription reads 'LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE', 'Liberty, Equality, Brotherhood', divided by dots. On either side of the '50' are the torch and the cornucopia which are Parisian Privy Marks. This shows that the coin was minted in Paris.
