Description:

French silver 20 centimes, 1867

Diameter 15mm

The obverse features the laureate bust of Emperor Napoleon III facing left. Below is the name Barre, possibly that of the designer or engraver. The inscription reads 'NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR'. On either side are two Parisian Privy Marks, a bee to the left and an anchor to the right. The reverse features a crown with '20 CENT' (centimes) below followed by a dot. At the base is the date and the Parisian mint mark 'A'. The inscription reads 'EMPIRE FRANCAIS'.
