Description:

English - Lancaster halfpenny token, 1792

Diameter 30mm

The obverse features the bust of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster (1340-1399), diademed and facing left. The inscription reads 'JOHN OF GAUNT DUKE OF LANCASTER'. The reverse features a shield bearing the Coat of Arms of the Duchy of Lancaster in the centre and the inscription 'LANCASTER HALF PENNY 1792' around the outside.
