English silver three halfpence, colonial issue, 1843

Diameter 11mm

The obverse features the 'young head' bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The inscription reads 'VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D:', Latin, abbreviated meaning 'Victoria By the Grace of God Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith'. The reverse features the denomination with the date below and a crown above. There is a half wreath decoration around the outside.
