Description:

English copper halfpenny, old bust, 1752

Diameter 26mm

The obverse depicts the cuirassed and laureate bust of George II facing left. The inscription reads 'GEORGIUS.II.REX', Latin for 'King George II'. The reverse is very worn but features Britannia seated and facing left. She has a shield at her side, in her right hand she carries an olive branch and in her left hand a spear. The date is below and the inscription reads 'BRITANNIA'.
