English copper halfpenny, 1723

Diameter 27mm


The obverse features the bust of George I facing right and the inscription 'GEORGIUS.REX', Latin for 'King George'. The reverse features Britannia seated with a shield at her side and a spear in her right hand, she holds an olive branch in her left hand. The inscription reads 'BRITANNIA.1723'.
