Description:

English copper farthing, c.1672 - 1679

Diameter 21mm

The obverse features the laureate and cuirassed bust of Charles II facing left. The inscription reads 'CAROLUS A CAROLO'. The reverse features Britannia seated and facing left. There is a shield at her side and she holds a spear in her left arm and an olive branch aloft in her right hand. The inscription reads 'BRITANNIA'.
