English silver fourpence, Maundy Set, 1860

Diameter 14mm

The obverse features the bust of Queen Victoria facing left and the inscription 'VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D:', a Latin abbreviation meaning 'Victoria By the Grace of God Queen of Britain, Defender of the Faith'. The reverse features a large central '4' dividing the date, within a wreath of oak branches and with a crown above.
