Description:

English copper farthing, 1719

Diameter 21mm

The obverse features the laureate bust of George I facing right. The inscription reads 'GEORGIUS REX', Latin for 'King George'. The reverse features Britannia seated and facing left with a shield at her side. She holds a spear in her left hand and an olive branch is held aloft in her right hand. The inscription reads 'BRITANNIA' and the date is below.
