Description:This hot pack was used in physiotherapy hot pack treatment at the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa. The hot packs were heated by simmering in 10 gallon Burco boilers. They were then removed from the boilers using wooden tongs and drained. The hot packs were wrapped in towels and applied to painful areas of a patient's body. The heat from the hot packs provided pain relief. Originally hot packs were made at the Royal Pump Rooms and were filled with Fuller's Earth. This hot pack is made from fabric and stuffed with a soft material.
