Description:This towel was used in physiotherapy treatments at the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa. After treatment patients were wrapped in hot towels and left to rest for twenty minutes in the Hammam. Towels were also used to cover hot packs before they were applied to a patient's body during hot pack treatment. This large towel is in fact two smaller towels that have been sewn together. It is possible that the towel was used to cover chairs or a Vichy Douche slab, during physiotherapy treatments.
