Description:This is a brass and enamelled satsuma jar from Japan. The exterior is decorated with a multi-coloured cloisonne bird and flowers. The inner bowl has blue and green enamelling, and the inside of the lid is decorated with a cloisonne flower on a blue background. Cloisonne is an ancient form of enamelling that developed in the Near East.
