Description:This mat or tray is from Ghana. It is made of spiralling bands of twisted coloured straw in gold, black, yellow and red. The label dates from an early exhibition of the tray, and reads "Haussa Straw Trays". However, mats such as this were usually made by the Lobis and Moshis people, and sold by the Haussa people.
