Description:This brass and enamel belt buckle and glass scent bottle with a brass, hinged lid, were both personal items of the author George Eliot.

Transcript of hand written label:
This clasp and scent bottle were formerly the property of George Eliot. Presented to me by Mrs Lewes on Feb 27th 1905.


George Eliot (born Mary Ann Evans) was a local authoress based in the Coventry and Nuneaton district, from 1819-1880.
