Description:Beetle wing detail. Binton. Imprint of the hard upper wing, termed the elytron, of a beetle.

Lower Jurassic: Wilmcote Limestone Member,
Binton.

The exceptionally fine grained nature of the Binton limestones has resulted in this beautifully preserved fossil.

John William Kirshaw collection. Kirshaw was the Honorary Secretary of the Warwickshire Natural History and Archaeological Society, 1863-1877 and an Honorary Curator of Geology for that society, 1858-1877.
