Description:A Shakespeare source translated into English. The two volumes of the Decameron in the English translation by John Florio came from the workshop of the same printer, Isaac Jaggard, who was responsible for the ‘First Folio’ of Shakespeare’s plays in 1623. William Painter's The Palace of Pleasure (1567) used stories from the Decameron. It is probable that it was in Painter's work that Shakespeare first encountered them.
