Date:1596
Description:Shakespeare’s prayer-book. This pocket-sized Book of Common Prayer, printed in 1596, is a volume that may have belonged to William Shakespeare. 'His' signatures on several pages are more probably later forgeries, but the edition is one that might have been known to the playwright. The smudged signature below the heraldic printer's device on the left-hand page of this image reads:   William Shakespear Full title: The booke of Common Prayer. London, Deputies of Christopher Barker, 1596. Bound with, The whole booke of psalms, 1594.
