Description:An Infant Baptism: Shakespeare was baptised 23 April 1564. William Shakespeare, the first boy, but third child of John and Mary Shakespeare, was baptised in the local parish church of Stratford-upon-Avon on 23rd April 1564. The record of this event is in the Parish Register which is housed at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Records Office. Full title: Richard Day, A Booke of Christian Prayers collected out of the auncient writers and best learned in our tyme, worthy to be read with earnest mynde of all Christians in these daungerous and troublesome dayes', London, John Daye, 1581.
