Description:A view of the Library at Warwick Castle, taken in 1904.

This is interior was reconstructed after the Great Fire of 1871, and decked out with the green and red wallpapers that were fashionable at the time.

Note the overcrowding of the furniture and the electric lamp by the window. Before the installation of electricity, gas lamps and candles were used to light the building - a fire would never be short of fuel, and with tragic consequences.
