Description:William Shakespeare bought 107 acres of land in Stratford, 1 May 1602.

This document was once part of the collections of R.B. Wheler. After his death, these had been given by his sister to the Trustees of Shakespeare's Birthplace. This copy was passed on to J.O. Halliwell presumably in recognition of his services to the Trust in cataloguing its collections and generally helping to set the organisation on its feet. This endorsement records its acquisition by Halliwell from the Trustees of Shakespeare's Birthplace, 10 January 1863

He later sold the document to the Earl of Warwick.
